Speed.Up.DOOM3.ShareReactor.zip is VERY useful...
It helps you
- Get the main menu working
- Get more FPS
- Get certain things working that didn't before
- etc etc etc

UPDATE 2:
The newly added file doom3.patch_and_commands.rar contains a patch that applies the changes mentioned in the Speed.Up File to make the single player menu work and a text file with some extra info on how to change resolution settings etc. in doom3.
