'Sounds Of The Universe' is the twelfth full-length album by Depeche Mode, released in Europe on April 20th 2009 and on April 21st 2009 in the U.S.A. and Canada. It will be supported by the Tour of the Universe. The album contains 13 tracks. As with the previous album, 'Playing The Angel', Dave Gahan has once again written three songs with Christian Eigner and Andrew Phillpott: 'Hole To Feed', 'Come Back' and 'Miles Away / The Truth Is'. 'Spacewalker' is an instrumental. Martin Gore sings the lead of 'Jezebel'. The B-side "Oh Well" is the first track ever to be co-written by Gore and Gahan. The album ends with a 42 second hidden track after 'Corrupt', possibly called 'Interlude No.5', which can be seen as 'Wrong' [reprise]. I have extracted this track and called it track 14, for your listening convenience. 'Wrong' is the first single released from the album. The music video for 'Wrong' was filmed in December 2008 and directed by Patrick Daughters. The video depicts a Ford Crown Victoria rolling backwards down a Los Angeles downtown street, seemingly with no driver at the wheel. A shot inside the car reveals a man in a latex mask lying unconscious in the front seat. When the car bumps another car [but keeps rolling], the man is jolted awake. etc., etc.
